Welcome to our very first Development Blog post!
We're excited to share our journey in crafting a new kind of horror adventure with WOODSIDE.
I'm Alice, Game Designer and Director on Woodside, and I'm thrilled to introduce you to this passion project, a horror game that's been brewing in my mind for quite some time.
While we can't reveal all the spooky details just yet, we wanted to give you a glimpse into what's been driving us to bring this project to life.

Overview
Our upcoming game is an exploration of the horror genre from an incredibly underrepresented perspective. It's a journey through fear, suspense, and the unknown, with an emphasis on immersive gameplay, uncanny settings, and captivating narratives.

Why We're Making Woodside
We believe there's something inherently intriguing about stepping into the shadows, facing your deepest fears, and navigating a world of the unexplained. Horror games have a unique power to evoke emotions like no other, and we're driven by our love for the genre.
But our motivation runs deeper. We're making Woodside because we see an opportunity to expand the horizons of horror and challenge the genre norms. We're eager to explore gameplay mechanics, settings, and stories that often go unseen. Our protagonist, Grace, a Black British woman, offers an underrepresented perspective in the horror landscape.
Contributing to the Horror Landscape
So, how do we envision Woodside contributing to the rich tapestry of horror games? By delving into untapped territories, we aim to redefine what horror can be. From intricate environments to thought-provoking narratives, we're working hard to create an experience that you will take with you long after you put the controller down.
We'd love for you to join us on this journey and we're excited to take you along for the ride.
In our future blog entries, we'll be sharing our progress, challenges, and insights as we craft a unique horror adventure. We're thrilled to have you on board, and we can't wait to reveal more about our game in the coming months.
